Course Overview
You end up with three trained first aiders standing in your own workplace, certificates in hand, kit checked and a clear plan for who does what. That's what the First Aid at Work course delivers. We bring the training to your premises in Basingstoke, so nobody loses a day travelling. The FAW qualification runs over three days and covers the fuller workplace picture, from an unresponsive casualty to fractures and burns.
Rebecca Sullivan runs Aim2Aid, and the trainers are in-house. We don't outsource to freelancers, so you're not meeting a stranger on the morning. Between them, our trainers hold over 50 years of combined experience. Life-threatening bleed control is now trained on every course we run, First Aid at Work included.
The first aid courses are accredited by FAIB, and the certificate lasts three years. It's recognised by the HSE, Ofsted and the DfE, which matters for schools, nurseries and offices alike.

Course Content and Practical Skills for Basingstoke Workplaces
Practical work takes up most of the three days. You'll be on the floor with a manikin, not watching slides. We've trained teams in units off the Houndmills industrial estate and in offices near Festival Place, and the content adapts to the risks in that room.
- CPR and safe use of a defibrillator
- Recovery position and managing an unresponsive casualty
- Choking, seizures, shock and anaphylaxis
- Catastrophic bleeding and wound packing
- Fractures, sprains, burns and eye injuries
- Incident reporting and record keeping for your business
Assessment is continuous, plus short written papers. Nobody is put on the spot in front of colleagues. We run first aid at work in Windsor as well. We cover the whole area with the same in-house team.

First Aid at Work Qualification
The FAW qualification is the fuller of the two workplace options and suits higher-risk settings or larger sites. Think warehousing on the Daneshill estate, workshops, manufacturing or a site with lone workers. Lower-risk offices often sit happily on the one-day course instead.
Which one does your workplace actually need? That depends on your risk assessment, and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) sets out how to judge it based on hazards, headcount and how spread out your staff are. We'll talk it through before you book, so you're not paying for the wrong thing.
Requalification is straightforward. Book before your three years expire and your cover stays continuous. Our trainers also deliver first aid at work in Milton Keynes. We cover the whole area from the same in-house team.
Course Dates, Venues and Delivery
Training happens at your premises, on dates that suit your rota. There's no scheduled open course to squeeze into. Here's how a booking runs, and who owns each stage.
Stage one: the scoping call
You speak to Rebecca or the office, and we establish headcount, risk level and the room you'll use. We confirm which course fits before any money moves.
Stage two: dates and paperwork
We lock in dates and send written confirmation of the course, duration and delegate numbers. That single point of contact stays yours from first call to certificate.
Stage three: delivery on site
An in-house trainer arrives with manikins, defibrillator trainers and consumables. You provide the space. Nothing gets handed to a subcontractor partway through.
Stage four: certificates and follow-up
Certificates are issued after assessment, and we log your renewal window. If a question comes up months later, you ring the same number and get the same team.
Whether you need first aid at work in Basingstoke or emergency first aid at work in Basingstoke, we cover the whole area, plus surrounding parts of Berkshire and beyond.
Emergency First Aid at Work Course
Some workplaces don't need the full three days. The Emergency First Aid at Work course runs as one day, about six hours, for up to 12 delegates, and carries the same three-year certificate. It's the common choice for shops, salons, offices and small teams.
EFAW can also run as a blended course: the practical session at your venue plus the theory completed online beforehand. The compliance position is identical, still one day of practical, still about six hours, still up to 12 delegates, still a three-year certificate. It just trims classroom time for staff who are hard to release.
Every paediatric first aid course we run also includes EFAW at no extra cost, which helps if your staff deal with children or you run a mixed-age setting. It sits alongside our wider first aid at work services, so you're not buying two courses to cover one workforce.
Mental health courses are accredited separately by FAA, and plenty of Basingstoke employers pair the two. Aim2Aid Ltd is a registered company, number 16319053, and you can read what customers say through our reviews widget.
