Booking and confirmation

A booking is confirmed once we have agreed the course, the date, the venue and the number of delegates in writing — email is fine. We will set out what is included in the training when we quote, and a quote stays valid for the period stated on it.

Payment

Unless we have agreed account terms with you in advance, our invoice is payable by the date shown on it. Where certificates are being issued, we may hold them until payment has been received. We will always make the payment terms clear before you commit to a booking.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or move a booked course, please tell us as early as you can. Because a trainer’s time is reserved for you and can rarely be filled at short notice, a charge may apply to late cancellations — we will always set out any such terms clearly at the time of booking rather than spring them on you afterwards.

We understand that illness and emergencies happen, and we will always try to be reasonable in rearranging a date where we can.

If we have to cancel

If we have to cancel or postpone a course for any reason, you may choose either a full refund of what you have paid for that course or an alternative date at no extra cost. Our responsibility in that situation is limited to the fee paid for the affected course.

Your venue

For onsite training you agree to provide a suitable room, large enough for practical work — including floor space for CPR — with reasonable heating, lighting and access to toilets and drinking water. We will tell you what we need in good time before the course.

You remain responsible for the health and safety of your premises, and for telling us in advance about any site rules, access arrangements or hazards.

Delegates

Delegates should be physically able to take part in the practical elements, which on some courses includes kneeling on the floor to perform CPR. Please tell us in advance about any needs, injuries or adjustments and we will do what we reasonably can to accommodate them.

We ask that delegates arrive on time. Our accrediting body’s rules mean that someone who misses a significant part of a course cannot be certificated, and we are not able to make exceptions to that.

Certificates

Certificates are issued to delegates who complete a course and meet the assessment criteria. Certificates on our accredited courses are valid for three years from the date of successful completion. First aid awareness sessions are introductory and are not certificated. Replacement copies of a certificate can be requested from us.

Course content

Training is provided in line with current UK resuscitation and first aid guidance and the requirements of our accrediting body. It is intended to prepare people to give first aid in an emergency; it is not medical advice, and completing a course does not make anyone a healthcare professional.

Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any booking is limited to the fees paid for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost business.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. They should be read alongside our privacy policy and cookie policy.
