Who it's for

Who this course is for

This course is for the staff who are first on the scene when something happens during the school day — in a classroom, out in the playground, on the sports field or away on a trip. It is framed around school life rather than a generic workplace.

Teachers and teaching assistants
The staff most likely to respond first to a pupil incident.
Support and office staff
Reception and admin teams who deal with unwell or injured pupils.
PE and sports staff
Higher-injury settings — pitches, courts and the sports hall.
Trip leaders
Staff taking responsibility for pupils away from the school site.

Built for schools

Scenarios from the school day

A head injury in the playground, an asthma attack in class, a fall in PE, an allergic reaction at lunch, an incident on a trip miles from school — these are the situations school staff actually face. We frame the practical work around them, so the skills stick where they will be used.

We also work around your calendar. Sessions are commonly delivered on an INSET day and shaped to your staffing, so you train the people who need it without pulling the school apart.

Delivered on your school site

Trained where your staff work, on a day that suits the school.

Wherever your school sits in our five-county area, we come to you and build the session around your timetable and staffing. Training on site keeps costs and disruption down and lets us use your real spaces in the scenarios.

FAQ

What schools ask before booking

What first aid training do school staff need?
Most teaching and support staff need emergency first aid framed around school life. Early-years and nursery-class staff usually need paediatric first aid instead. We help you work out the right mix for your setting.
Do teachers need paediatric or workplace first aid?
It depends on the age of the children they work with. Staff working with early-years children generally need paediatric first aid; staff working with older pupils are usually covered by this school-focused emergency first aid course.
Can you deliver on an INSET day or onsite at our school?
Yes — INSET-day and onsite delivery is exactly how we usually run school training. We come to you and build the session around your timetable and staffing.
How long is the certificate valid?
Three years. Many schools slot a short refresher into an INSET day in between, so staff who rarely use the skills keep them fresh.
Which areas do you cover?
We train schools across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey. If you are just outside that, ask — we often can help.
