Course Overview
The awkward part of first aid at work is that nobody thinks about it until an incident is already happening. By then the question is simple: does someone on shift know what to do in the first three minutes? Emergency First Aid at Work answers that question. One day, about six hours, up to 12 delegates, and a certificate valid for three years.
We run the course at your premises in Woking. That means your own kitchen, warehouse aisle, salon floor or office corridor becomes the training environment, so the scenarios your staff practise match the space they actually work in. No travel time. No half-day lost to a car park.
The qualification is accredited by FAIB and the three-year certificate is recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE. Life-threatening bleed control is now trained on every course we deliver, EFAW included, because catastrophic bleeding does not wait for an ambulance.
Aim2Aid Ltd is registered at 70 Fountain Gardens, Windsor, Berkshire SL4 3SX, company number 16319053. Rebecca Sullivan owns the business and leads the training team. Every trainer is in-house. We never outsource a session to a subcontractor, which is why the person who turns up in Woking teaches to the same standard as the person who turned up last year. Between them, our trainers hold over 50 years of combined experience.

Who the Course Is For
Plenty of businesses book the wrong level of first aid training and only find out when an inspector asks. EFAW is the right fit for lower-risk workplaces that need a nominated first aider on site and do not need the full three-day qualification. Offices, shops, cafes, studios, small warehouses, letting agencies, gyms. If your risk assessment points to one or two appointed people rather than a full first aid team, this is the course for your staff.
Whether you need emergency first aid at work in Woking or broader first aid training in Woking, we cover the whole area and can advise on which level your risk assessment supports.
Employers and appointed persons
Someone has to be named on the wall. That person needs skills, not a laminated poster. EFAW gives your appointed first aider the confidence to handle an unconscious casualty, start CPR, use an AED and manage bleeding, choking, shock and burns until the ambulance service arrives. HSE guidance on first aid at work makes clear that the level of provision follows your own assessment of risk, and we help you match the training to it.
Nurseries, schools and childcare settings
Woking has a lot of early years and after-school provision, and staff there deal with small casualties as well as adult ones. Every paediatric first aid course we run comes with EFAW at no extra cost. Not an upgrade. Not an add-on line on the invoice. It is there because a nursery assistant needs both sets of skills in the same afternoon.
Teams that cannot all stop at once
Rotas are the real obstacle. A retail team cannot shut the till for a day, and a care provider cannot empty a shift. We work around that by splitting a group across dates, running early starts, or training a first cohort now and a second later in the month, all at your premises.

Booking Options and Course Dates
Most providers publish a fixed calendar and expect you to fit around it. We do not run open courses for individual delegates, and we do not ask you to send people off to a training centre. Training is delivered at your workplace, on a date we agree with you. That is the only model we operate.
We also run emergency first aid at work in Basingstoke. We cover the whole area and book to your diary rather than ours.
Call or message Rebecca with a rough group size and two or three workable dates. You will get a straight answer on availability and a free quote. No booking form limbo.
What we need from you
- A room with enough clear floor space for CPR practice on manikins
- Your delegate numbers, up to 12 on the day
- Names and any accessibility or learning support needs in advance
- An agreed start time that suits your shift pattern
Short notice and repeat bookings
Certificates expire. Staff leave. Both happen at the worst moment. Tell us when your current certificates run out and we will schedule the refresh before the gap opens rather than after. Repeat clients tend to book the next round on the day of the last one.

Course Format and Duration
Six hours is not long. That is precisely why the day is built around doing rather than watching. Delegates spend the bulk of the time on the floor with manikins, AED trainers, dressings and tourniquets, working through scenarios in short bursts with feedback each time. Assessment is continuous and practical, carried out by the trainer across the day.
Blended delivery is available as an option for this course. The theory element is completed online in your own time, then the practical session runs at your venue in Woking. The overall commitment stays the same: one day, around six hours of course time, up to 12 delegates, and the same three-year certificate on successful completion. Compliance does not change because part of the theory moved online. The hands-on skills are still assessed in person, in front of a trainer.
What blended does change is the shape of the day for your business. Less classroom sitting. Less time away from the job.
What You Will Learn in Woking
The syllabus is fixed, and that is the point. An employer needs to know exactly what their first aider can do. Our emergency first aid at work services cover the full EFAW content and nothing is trimmed to shorten the day.
- The role and responsibilities of an emergency first aider, including hygiene and record keeping
- Assessing an incident scene and managing an unresponsive casualty
- CPR on an adult and safe use of an AED
- Choking, adult and child
- Control of external bleeding, including life-threatening bleed control with dressings and tourniquets
- Shock, including recognition and treatment
- Seizures, minor injuries, burns and scalds
- Anaphylaxis awareness and when to escalate
- Accident reporting and handover to the emergency services
Practised in your own workplace
A stockroom scenario in a stockroom lands differently than one in a hired hall. Delegates learn where their kit is, how long it takes to reach the front door, and who calls 999 while someone else starts compressions. That knowledge stays behind after the trainer leaves.
After the course
Certificates are issued for three years. If a question comes up six months later, ring us. Rebecca and the team answer queries from past delegates without invoicing for the call. We also cover Woking and surrounding areas for the rest of your first aid provision, so one relationship handles your whole schedule.
Our reviews are published through the reviews widget on the site, and the Trustpilot feed is there for anyone who wants to read what other employers said before booking.
