Defibrillator AED Training

What AED Training Covers

Most people freeze. A defibrillator sits on the wall, the box is sealed, and nobody in the room is sure they are allowed to open it. That hesitation is the problem this course exists to remove. Defibrillator AED training in Windsor starts by teaching you to recognise a sudden cardiac arrest, then walks you through opening the unit, placing the pads and following the voice prompts without second-guessing yourself.

The session is instructor-led from the first minute. You are not left with a slideshow and a plastic torso. A trainer from our in-house team stands with you while you work through the sequence, corrects the pad placement, and makes you repeat it until it is automatic.

  • Recognising cardiac arrest and ruling out other collapses
  • Calling for help and getting the AED to the casualty fast
  • Switching the unit on and following its spoken instructions
  • Pad placement on adults, including hairy, wet or pacemaker chests
  • Safety precautions before delivering a shock
  • Life-threatening bleed control, now trained on every course we run

CPR and Defibrillator Practice

The awkward truth about CPR is that people do it too gently and stop too soon. Chest compressions are tiring and they feel wrong the first time you do them properly. We would rather you find that out in a training room than on a shop floor.

Practice is hands-on. You work on manikins with feedback, then you bring the training AED into the same drill so the two skills join up rather than sitting in separate boxes in your head. Compressions, pads, shock, back to compressions. Repeat until the order stops needing thought.

Everyone gets time on the equipment. Nobody watches from a chair.

Certification and Compliance for Windsor Homes

Paperwork is where good training gets undone. A certificate that an inspector will not accept is worthless, however well the day went. Our first aid courses are accredited by FAIB, and the certificate is valid for three years and recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE. Our mental health courses are accredited by FAA, which is a separate scheme and we keep the two apart.

Windsor's housing stock makes this practical rather than abstract. The town centre sits opposite Henry VIII Gate with streets dating from the 17th century, and the mix runs from Georgian houses and Victorian terraces on roads like Sheet Street, Kings Road and Adelaide Square through to modern flats along the Thames. Older buildings mean narrow stairs, tight landings and awkward access, and a resuscitation attempt in a Grade II-listed townhouse does not look like one in an open office.

If you need defibrillator aed training in Windsor or a paediatric first aid course in Windsor, we cover the whole area and the surrounding parts of Berkshire.

Who the Course Is For and Workplace Use of an AED

No previous first aid training is needed. That surprises people who assume there is a barrier. There is not.

The course suits staff in shops, offices, hotels, schools, gyms, care settings and community buildings, plus anyone responsible for a public access defibrillator. Buying the unit is the easy half. Knowing who fetches it, who starts compressions and who meets the ambulance is the half that gets skipped, so we build that into the practical work for your workplace rather than leaving it as theory.

Whether you need defibrillator aed training in Windsor or defibrillator training services Milton Keynes, we cover the whole area.

Booking Enquiry and Course Delivery

The fear is being passed around and then left waiting. Here is the sequence instead. You call or email, you speak to us about numbers, dates and the room you have available, and you get a quote at no cost. Rebecca leads the training team and signs off what is delivered and by whom, so the person answering your enquiry is accountable for the day itself.

Training happens at your premises. We do not run open sessions for individual delegates, and we do not send you to a hall across town. Everything comes to you: manikins, training defibrillators, pads and the paperwork.

Our trainers are in-house and never outsourced. Between them they hold over 50 years of combined experience. You will not meet a subcontractor on the day.

Course Content and Practical Assessment in Windsor

Assessment worries people more than the skills do. It should not. There is no written exam to fail: your trainer assesses you continuously through the practical drills, watching compression depth and rate, pad placement, safety checks before the shock and how you hand over to the emergency services.

Blended delivery is an option if releasing staff for a full day is difficult. The theory is completed online beforehand and the practical is delivered at your venue, with the same three-year certificate at the end. For Emergency First Aid at Work, that means one day of about six hours for up to 12 delegates, with the same compliance outcome either way. As the Health and Safety Executive sets out, employers need to base their first aid provision on an assessment of the risks in their own workplace, and our aed training is built to fit that assessment rather than fight it.

Defibrillator AED Training in Windsor FAQs

Can anyone use a defibrillator without training?

Yes. An AED talks the user through each step and will not deliver a shock unless it detects a shockable rhythm. Training matters because it removes hesitation and teaches the CPR that goes with it.

How do I get defibrillator training in Windsor?

Call 07771 680794 or email us with your dates, delegate numbers and the room you have available. We deliver at your own premises in Windsor and across Berkshire, so there is no travelling to a centre.

Do I need previous first aid training to attend?

No. The course is written for complete beginners as well as for staff refreshing existing skills.

Is the certificate suitable for a Windsor workplace inspection?

Yes. Our first aid courses are accredited by FAIB and the certificate lasts three years, recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE.
