Every employer asking what emergency first aid at work costs really wants to know what sits inside the price, and whether the figure quoted is for one person or a room full of them.

The Short Version

  • EFAW is a one day course, about six hours, for up to 12 delegates.
  • The certificate lasts three years, so spread the cost across that period.
  • Pricing is usually for the group, so filling all 12 seats lowers the cost per certificate.
  • Training is delivered at your premises, which removes venue and travel overheads.
  • Blended delivery is available: online theory plus practical on site, same duration and compliance.
  • Paediatric content is included in our EFAW course at no extra cost.

Aim2Aid Ltd is run by Rebecca Sullivan with in-house trainers who are never outsourced, holding over 50 years of combined experience, with first aid courses accredited by FAIB. Whether you need emergency first aid at work or emergency first aid at work services Milton Keynes, we cover the whole area.

Emergency first aid at work

How much is emergency first aid at work?

The cost of emergency first aid at work depends on how many people you put through it, where the training happens and how the day is delivered. It is a one day course, roughly six hours, for up to 12 delegates, and the certificate lasts three years, so the real figure is the price spread across those staff and years.

Tell Aim2Aid First Aid and Fire Safety Training how many staff need EFAW certificates and we will price the day at your premises, blended or in one block.

What you are actually paying for on the day

Ask any tradesperson what a job costs and the honest answer is always the same: it depends what is in it. Emergency first aid at work is no different. You are paying for a qualified trainer's time on site, the accredited paperwork behind the qualification, the consumables and kit that get used up in a day of practical work, and the certification that stands up when somebody asks to see it.

The course itself is fixed in shape. One day, about six hours, up to 12 delegates in the room. That cap matters to the price because it is what stops a first aid course turning into a lecture. Twelve is the number at which everyone still gets hands on a manikin, everyone gets watched doing CPR properly, and nobody hides at the back. A provider quoting for 20 in a day is not selling you the same thing.

Where the training happens changes the sum too. We deliver at your premises, which means no travel time for your staff, no hotel-style venue cost baked into the fee, and no day lost getting people to and from somewhere else. Whether you need emergency first aid at work or emergency first aid at work in Reading, we cover the whole area, and the pricing logic is the same wherever the van points.

What you are not paying for is a scheduled seat on somebody else's course. Every session we run is booked by a business, for that business, on a date that suits the rota.

Emergency first aid at work

Per head, per certificate, per three years

The number that gets quoted is almost always the day rate for the group, not a price per person. That is the bit worth understanding before you compare anything. A one day course for up to 12 delegates has a cost, and the more of those 12 seats you fill, the lower the cost per certificate. Six people on a course you have already paid for is money left on the table.

Then divide again by three, because that certificate runs for three years. A qualification that covers a member of staff for three years of shifts, site visits and site inductions is a small annual figure by the time you work it out properly. Most employers who grumble at the invoice are looking at a one day cost and forgetting they are buying three years of cover.

A few things move the number in your favour:

  • Filling the room. Twelve seats is twelve certificates for one day's training.
  • Training on your own site. No venue overheads, no travel time paid out of your wage bill.
  • Timing it to your work. A quieter week costs you less in lost productivity than a flat-out one.
  • Renewing on schedule. Letting certificates lapse means starting again and scrambling for a date.

Whether you need emergency first aid at work or emergency first aid at work in Windsor, we cover the whole area, and we will tell you plainly whether EFAW is the right level for your workplace before you commit to anything.

Blended delivery and what it changes

There is an option that suits some employers well: blended delivery. The theory element is completed online in the delegate's own time and the practical element is delivered at your premises. The compliance position does not change. It is still a one day course, about six hours in total, still up to 12 delegates, still a three year certificate at the end of it.

What blended actually buys you is flexibility on the shop floor. Splitting the theory out means the on-site portion sits more comfortably around a working day, which for a small crew can be the difference between training happening this month and being pushed to next quarter. For other employers, keeping the whole thing in one block on site is simpler and that is fine too. Both routes reach the same qualification.

If you are weighing up levels rather than delivery, the emergency first aid at work course is the one day option. Higher risk workplaces, or those with more complex hazards, may need the fuller three day qualification instead, and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) sets out how an employer should assess that need. We will talk it through honestly rather than sell you a longer course you do not require.

Why in-house trainers keep the cost honest

Aim2Aid Ltd is run by Rebecca Sullivan, and our trainers are in-house. Not contractors pulled in for the day, not a name subbed out to whoever is free. Rebecca leads that team, and between them they hold over 50 years of combined experience in first aid training. That matters to price because outsourcing adds a margin on top of a margin, and it matters to quality because the person walking into your workplace is accountable to the same standards every time.

Our first aid courses are accredited by FAIB. Our mental health courses are accredited by FAA. There is one more thing worth knowing: our emergency first aid at work course includes paediatric content at no extra cost, which suits employers with families on site, customer-facing premises or mixed-age visitors, and it is not something we charge to bolt on.

We train across Berkshire and surrounding areas, at your premises, on your date. For a straight figure for your headcount, ring Rebecca on 07771 680794 and you will get a number and the reasoning behind it, not a brochure. Our reviews are on the widget on our site if you want to see how that lands with other employers first.
