Right now the defibrillator on your wall is a sealed box nobody has opened. After a morning with us, it is a piece of kit your staff can reach for, attach and use while the ambulance is still en route.

Defibrillator AED Training

What AED Training Covers

Most workplaces buy the defibrillator and stop there. The box goes on the wall, the pads sit in date, and nobody has opened the lid. That is the awkward part of AED provision: the kit is the easy purchase, the confidence is not. Defibrillator training closes that gap.

The course teaches you to recognise a sudden cardiac arrest, start chest compressions without hesitating, and attach and operate an automated external defibrillator safely. It covers what the machine is telling you, what it will and will not do, and why a shock is never delivered by accident. Safety precautions are worked through in full: wet casualties, metal surfaces, oxygen, hair, pacemakers, medication patches. You learn where hands go and where they do not.

Basic life support runs alongside it. Compression depth and rate, airway checks, recovery position, handover to the ambulance crew. Life-threatening bleed control is now trained on every course we run, so nobody leaves with a gap in the one skill that buys time before help arrives. It is a short course with a narrow job. It does that job properly.

Course Content and Practical Assessment

Theory alone does not hold under pressure. People freeze because they have never touched a manikin, never heard a live AED prompt, never had to shout for someone to stand clear. So the bulk of the session is hands on.

Content covered includes:

  • The chain of survival and why minutes matter
  • Recognising cardiac arrest against fainting, seizure and choking
  • Adult CPR to current resuscitation guidance
  • Attaching pads, following voice prompts, delivering a shock
  • AED storage, pad expiry and battery checks
  • Life-threatening bleed control and catastrophic haemorrhage
  • Handover and post-incident reporting

Assessment is continuous and practical. Your trainer watches you run a full sequence: assess, call, compress, apply the AED, resume compressions. No written exam ambush. You are corrected in the moment and you repeat it until it is clean. Delegates who need more time get more time.

Everything is delivered by our own trainers. We do not outsource aed training to a contractor pool, and that is the point of the model: the person in your room is on our team, briefed by Rebecca, working to the same standard as every other session we run. Our trainers hold over 50 years of combined experience between them. Whether you need defibrillator AED training in Woking or first aid courses in Woking, we cover the whole area.

Booking Enquiry and Course Delivery in Woking

Booking is where firms usually lose a week to email tennis. We keep it short.

Step one: tell us the basics

Numbers, site, the dates that work, and whether you already have a defibrillator on the wall. If you have a specific model, say so. We train on the kit you will actually reach for.

Step two: the free quote

We come back with a written quote covering the session, the trainer, the manikins, the training AEDs, the consumables and the certificates. It is itemised so you can see there is nothing bolted on afterwards. No venue hire, because we come to you.

Step three: confirm and prepare

We confirm the date and tell you what the room needs: floor space, chairs pushed back, that is roughly it. Rebecca Sullivan leads the trainer team and allocates the right one to your booking.

Step four: delivery and certificates

The trainer arrives at your premises, sets up, and runs the session. Certificates follow the course. All training is delivered at your own premises in Woking and across Berkshire and surrounding areas.

Who the Course Is For and Workplace Use of an AED in Woking

The common assumption is that this course is for the first aid team only. That thinking is what leaves an AED unused while four people watch. Anyone can attend. No previous first aid training is required.

It suits offices, schools, gyms, retail units, warehouses, care settings, community halls and sports clubs. It works for your staff as a whole, not a chosen two. The Health and Safety Executive expects your first aid provision to reflect the actual risks in your workplace, and cardiac arrest does not check your risk assessment first.

Workplace use raises questions the sales brochure skips: who checks the pads, who logs the battery date, who unlocks the cabinet at 6am, who calls it in. We cover those responsibilities in the session so ownership sits with a named person rather than nobody. Whether you need defibrillator AED training in Woking or fire marshal training in Woking, we cover the whole area.

Course Format and Duration

Half a day of talking heads teaches nothing. Format matters.

The course is instructor led and practical, delivered at your premises with a trainer, manikins and training defibrillators brought in. Group sizes are kept small enough that everyone gets repeated hands-on time rather than a turn.

Blended delivery is available as an option: the theory is completed online in your own time, and the trainer comes to your venue for the practical work and assessment. Some employers prefer it because it takes less time off the floor. Others want the whole thing in one block. Both are on the table. We run defibrillator training in Milton Keynes as well. We cover the whole area.

Certification and Compliance

A certificate that nobody recognises is paperwork, not compliance. So here is what yours is.

Our first aid courses are accredited by FAIB, and our mental health courses are accredited by FAA. We never blanket one across the other. Certification runs for three years and is recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE, which is what auditors, insurers and inspectors ask to see.
