It runs in a simple order: you call, we confirm which paediatric course your role actually needs, we agree a date at your premises, then a trainer arrives with the manikins and the paperwork and leaves you with certificates the same week.

**Summary**

- Full 12-hour paediatric first aid or the shorter emergency course, chosen before you book.
- Delivered at your own premises in Reading and across Berkshire and surrounding areas, on your date.
- FAIB accredited, three-year certificate recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE.
- Blended delivery available, with online theory and the practical done face to face.

Aim2Aid Ltd is led by Rebecca Sullivan, our trainers are in-house and never outsourced, and settings that book with us often add [fire safety training in Reading](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/resources/fire-safety-and-warden-training-reading/) for the same team.

## What Paediatric First Aid Covers

Paediatric first aid covers the emergencies that happen to babies and children, from choking and breathing problems through to bleeding, burns, seizures and allergic reactions. It's practical training, so you'll spend most of the day with your hands on manikins rather than watching slides.

We start with casualty assessment, because everything else follows from it. Infant and child CPR comes next, then the recovery position, then the conditions early years staff meet most often. Life-threatening bleed control is now trained on every course we run, paediatric included. Rebecca insists on that, and it's a skill you don't forget.

The rest of the day covers head injuries, fractures, febrile convulsions, asthma, anaphylaxis and meningitis awareness. We're not skipping the awkward bits. If a child in your care collapses on the way back from Palmer Park, you need to know what your first three actions are.

## Course Formats and Duration for Reading Homes

There are two routes, and the right one depends on what your role demands. We'll tell you which you need before you book, not after.

### Full 12-hour paediatric first aid

The full course runs over two days and is the one most nurseries, childminders and nannies are asked for. It's the qualification that satisfies early years staffing requirements, and it's the one we recommend if your setting is registered.

### Emergency paediatric first aid

The shorter emergency course covers the immediate life-saving elements. It suits assistants, volunteers, sports coaches and parents who want capability rather than a registration tick. It also sits well alongside workplace training for your staff.

### Blended delivery as an option

Blended delivery is available if classroom time is hard to release. The theory is completed online in your own time, and the practical assessment is done in person at your premises. The compliance outcome is identical, and so is the three-year certificate.

## Certification and Validity in Reading

Our first aid courses are accredited by FAIB, and the certificate is valid for three years. It's recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE, which is what matters when an inspector asks to see your file.

Assessment is continuous. There's no written exam sprung on you at four o'clock. Your trainer watches you work through the practical scenarios and asks questions as you go. Almost everyone passes, because we teach until it sticks.

Worried you'll pay over the odds for the paperwork? You won't, because the certificate, the workbook, the manikins and the trainer's travel to your premises are all in one quote, with nothing bolted on afterwards.

## Course Dates, Venues and Delivery Options

We train at your premises only, on a date you choose. That means a nursery on Christchurch Road, a preschool near St Mary's Butts or a converted Victorian terrace off Oxford Road, whichever suits your team. Many of those older buildings are in conservation areas, so we work around narrow stairs and tight rooms rather than complaining about them.

Our trainers are in-house. We never outsource, and Rebecca Sullivan leads the team, which is why standards don't drift between one booking and the next. Between them they hold over 50 years of combined experience. Aim2Aid Ltd is a registered company, number 16319053, if you want to check us before you commit.

## EYFS, Ofsted and Childcare Compliance

The training is built to meet EYFS requirements and childcare registration rules, and it's accepted for nanny and childminder registration. As the [Health and Safety Executive](https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/l74.htm) sets out, training has to come from a competent provider, and that principle applies just as firmly in early years settings as it does in an office.

Whether you need a paediatric first aid course in Reading or [paediatric first aid in Milton Keynes](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/resources/paediatric-first-aid-course-milton-keynes/), we cover the whole area. Our [paediatric first aid course services](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/first-aid-training/paediatric-first-aid/) are booked the same way wherever you are: one call, one date, one quote.

### What your Ofsted file needs

You'll get named certificates for every delegate, showing the accreditation and the expiry date. We'll flag renewals before they lapse, so you're not scrambling.

### Ratios and cover

Settings usually train more staff than the minimum, so holidays and sickness don't leave you short. We'll talk that through honestly and won't push numbers you don't need.

## Who the Course Is For and Practical Skills Taught

Nursery staff, childminders, nannies, teaching assistants, sports coaches, foster carers and parents all sit these courses. Groups mix well. A parent from a Kendrick Road household learns the same chest compressions as a nursery manager near Market Place.

Whether you need a paediatric first aid course in Reading or [paediatric first aid services Windsor](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/resources/paediatric-first-aid-course-windsor/), we cover the whole area.

### Skills you'll practise on the day

- Infant and child CPR, including AED use
- Choking response for babies and children
- Severe bleed control and shock management
- Recovery position, seizures and unresponsive casualties
- Anaphylaxis, asthma and auto-injector use

### What we ask of you

Bring clothes you can kneel in and a room we can clear a little floor space in. That's it. We bring everything else, and Rebecca's team sets up before your first delegate arrives.

## Paediatric First Aid Course in Reading: Your Questions Answered

### How long does paediatric first aid training take?

The full paediatric first aid course is 12 hours over two days. The emergency paediatric course is shorter and covers the immediate life-saving skills only. We'll confirm which one your role needs before you book.

### How can I get a paediatric first aid certificate in the UK?

Complete an accredited course with a competent provider. Ours are accredited by FAIB, assessed practically on the day, and issue a certificate valid for three years, recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE.

### Can you do a paediatric first aid course online?

Not entirely. We offer blended delivery, where the theory is completed online and the practical assessment happens in person at your premises. Compliance and the three-year certificate are the same.

### Do you train at nurseries in central Reading?

Yes. We deliver at your premises only, whether that's a setting near Market Place, a preschool off Oxford Road or a converted terrace on Christchurch Road. We work around older buildings without fuss.

### Is the course accepted for childminder registration in Reading?

Yes. The full 12-hour course meets EYFS requirements and is accepted for nanny and childminder registration, so it stands up when your Reading inspection file is checked.

### How many people can you train at our Reading setting?

Group sizes are agreed when you book, and most settings train more staff than the minimum so holiday and sickness cover holds. Call and we'll size it honestly for your team.
