Aim2Aid is judged on what our delegates say afterwards, and you can read those reviews yourself on our reviews and Trustpilot widget rather than take our word for it. Now to the work: paediatric first aid, taught at your setting in Guildford, hands on manikins from the first hour.

**At a Glance**

- Infant and child technique taught separately, because a baby is not a small adult.
- FAIB accredited first aid training, three-year certificate recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE.

## What Paediatric First Aid Covers

A paediatric first aid course has to cover children who cannot tell you what is wrong. That is the awkward part of the job. Babies deteriorate fast and silently. Our training deals with that directly: recognising a sick or injured child, acting inside the first minutes, and knowing when to escalate to emergency services.

### Babies and children are not small adults

Compression depth, rescue breaths, choking response and casualty assessment all change with age. We teach infant and child technique separately so nobody leaves guessing which one applies. Rebecca sets the course content and keeps every trainer working to the same standard, so what your staff learn in one session matches what a colleague learns in the next.

### The conditions that actually come up

Allergic reaction and anaphylaxis, febrile seizures, asthma attacks, head injuries, burns and scalds, poisoning, meningitis warning signs and the recovery position. Life-threatening bleed control is now trained on every course we run, paediatric included, because catastrophic bleeding does not wait for an ambulance.

### Who it is written for

Nursery staff, childminders, nannies, pre-school and after-school teams, school support staff, sports coaches and parents. The content is the same regardless. A childminder registering for the first time and a nursery room leader renewing a lapsed certificate both need the full paediatric syllabus.

## Practical Skills Taught

Watching a video does not build muscle memory. Hands on manikins does. Every delegate works on infant and junior manikins, practises the choking sequence on both, and rehearses a full primary survey out loud until it stops feeling strange. Nobody sits at the back.

### Delivered at your premises, around your day

This is the part most settings worry about. Losing a room, the noise, the disruption to ratios. We train at your premises only, and the session is staged to fit a working childcare setting. A staff room, a hall or a cleared main room is enough. We arrive with our own manikins, mats and kit, set up in a corner, and pack down before we leave. There is no drilling, no mess and nothing left behind. Most settings run training after close, on a weekend or across a closure day so ratios stay untouched. Skills practice happens in short blocks, so if a member of staff has to step out for ten minutes they rejoin without losing the thread.

### Blended delivery if the calendar is tight

Blended is an option here. Theory is completed online in delegates' own time, then the practical, assessed element happens at your premises on the day. That shortens the time your team spends off the floor while keeping the hands-on assessment that Ofsted and the EYFS expect. The certificate is valid for three years either way. Whether you need a paediatric first aid course in Guildford or wider [first aid training in Guildford](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/resources/first-aid-courses-and-training-guildford/) for your staff, we cover Guildford and across Surrey and surrounding areas.

### Assessment on the day

Continuous assessment by the trainer, plus practical demonstration of infant and child CPR, choking management, bleed control and recovery position. There is no written exam to fear. If someone is struggling, the trainer coaches them through it in the room rather than failing them at the end.

## EYFS, Ofsted and Childcare Compliance in Guildford

The real fear is paying for training that an inspector then refuses. Fair fear. Certificates that do not name a recognised awarding body cause trouble at exactly the wrong moment. Our first aid courses are accredited by FAIB, and certification runs for three years, recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE. Our mental health courses are accredited by FAA, which is a separate route and stated separately for a reason.

### Evidence you can hand to an inspector

Each delegate leaves with a dated, named certificate showing the qualification, the awarding body and the expiry date. Keep them with your staff records. That is what gets checked. HSE guidance on first aid at work makes the same point about being able to show who is trained and when their certificate runs out, and the principle holds for early years settings too.

### In-house trainers, never outsourced

Our trainers are in-house. We do not subcontract to a freelancer we have never met, which is why the standard does not wobble between bookings. Rebecca Sullivan leads the team, and between them our trainers hold over 50 years of combined experience. She does not deliver every session herself, and we will not pretend otherwise.

### Renewals and planning ahead

Three years passes quickly and lapsed certificates are found during inspections, not before them. Book the refresher while the current one is still valid. We can train a whole team at once so all your expiry dates sit together instead of scattered across the year. Aim2Aid Ltd, company number 16319053, covers Guildford and across Surrey. Reviews are on our reviews and Trustpilot widget if you want to read them before you call.
