Right now the first aid box in your unit is a wall fixture nobody has opened, and the plan for a bad cut is to shout for the office. After three days on site, four of your people know exactly who does what, in what order, on your floor.

**In Short**

- The three-day First Aid at Work course covers machinery, height, vehicle and chemical risks that a short course does not.
- Training happens at your own Aylesbury premises, so staff and vans stay where they are.
- Certificates are FAIB accredited, recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE, and valid for three years.
- Life-threatening bleed control, including tourniquet and wound packing, is now trained on every course.

Aim2Aid First Aid and Fire Safety Training is led by Rebecca Sullivan with in-house trainers who are never outsourced, and if a shorter one-day option suits your risk assessment better we will point you to emergency first aid at work in Aylesbury instead.

## Course Overview

Most Aylesbury workplaces we walk into have a green box on the wall, a triangular bandage that has never left its wrapper, and nobody named on the door. A unit off the Aston Clinton road, a joinery shop, a care office near the town centre: the kit is there, the trained person is not. First aid at work fixes the second half of that.

The three-day First Aid at Work course, often written as FAW, is the fuller workplace qualification. It suits sites where the risk assessment shows machinery, working at height, chemicals, vehicles or lone working. Delegates leave able to manage an unresponsive casualty, a fracture, a burn, a seizure and a catastrophic bleed, and to hand over a clear account to the ambulance crew.

Aim2Aid First Aid and Fire Safety Training is run by Rebecca Sullivan from Windsor, and the courses are FAIB accredited. Trainers are in-house. Nobody is subcontracted in.

## Course Content and Practical Skills in Aylesbury

A concrete floor, a Stanley knife and a pallet of steel banding is the sort of ground where the theory stops mattering. What matters is whether someone can get a dressing onto an arterial bleed while the machine is still winding down. So the practical hours carry the weight of this course.

Delegates work on manikins for CPR and on each other for splinting, dressings and the recovery position. We drill defibrillator use with a training AED, including pad placement over chest hair and around a pacemaker. Life-threatening bleed control is now trained on every course, using a tourniquet and haemostatic-style packing on a limb trainer, because a Stanley knife or an angle grinder does not wait for an ambulance.

The rest of the content covers choking, shock, spinal awareness, head injuries, asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies, poisoning, eye injuries, burns and scalds, and incident recording. Assessment is continuous, with practical demonstrations and short written papers across the three days. The same team also runs [first aid at work in Reading](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/resources/first-aid-at-work-reading/). We cover the whole area.

Skills stick when hands do the work.

## Workplace and On-Site Training in Aylesbury

Aylesbury premises are rarely tidy training rooms. They are trading estate units with roller doors, first-floor offices above a shopfront, warehouses on Rabans Lane, school kitchens, garages. We train in all of them. A canteen with tables pushed back, or a mezzanine office with floor space cleared, is plenty. We need somewhere clean to kneel for the CPR work and a wall socket.

Training is delivered at your premises only, which keeps your staff on site and your vehicles off the road. Group sizes and content are the same wherever we set up. If your team is split across sites, we also run [first aid at work in Milton Keynes](https://www.aim2aid.co.uk/resources/first-aid-at-work-milton-keynes/), cover the whole area and can run matching courses at each address.

The [Health and Safety Executive](https://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/) expects the number of first aiders to follow your own needs assessment, so we will talk through headcount, shift pattern and risk before you book. A three-shift plant needs cover on nights as well as days.

Your floor, your kit, your people.

## Emergency First Aid at Work Course

Some Aylesbury workplaces are a desk, a kettle and a photocopier. A low-risk office does not need three days of splinting practice, and paying for it makes little sense. That is what the Emergency First Aid at Work course is for.

It runs one day, about six hours, up to 12 delegates, and carries a 3-year certificate. It covers the priorities: an unresponsive casualty, CPR and defibrillator use, choking, bleeding including catastrophic bleeding, shock, seizures and minor injuries. It can be taken blended, with the theory completed online beforehand and the practical assessment done at your venue on the day, which shortens the time your staff spend off the floor without changing the compliance position or the certificate.

And staff who book paediatric first aid get the EFAW course added at no extra cost, which matters if your workplace has children through the door: a nursery office, a leisure site, a family business above the shop.

## Training Duration and Certification

Paper is what an insurer asks for after the event. The First Aid at Work course runs three days, and the requalification course runs two days, taken before the existing certificate lapses. Certificates are valid for three years from the date of the assessment.

The qualification is FAIB accredited and recognised by HSE, Ofsted and the DfE, so it holds up for a manufacturing unit, a school office and a nursery alike. Mental health courses are accredited separately by the FAA, and are worth considering alongside the physical first aid cover.

We recommend an annual refresher of a few hours between certificates to keep CPR and bleed control current. Diary the expiry date. Requalification is cheaper than starting again.

- First Aid at Work: three days
- Requalification: two days, before expiry
- Emergency First Aid at Work: one day, about six hours, up to 12 delegates
- All certificates valid for three years

## First Aid at Work Qualification

Look at who actually walks your site. A builder's merchant has forklifts and banding. A school has a playground and 300 children. A care setting has residents on anticoagulants who bruise and bleed from a small knock. The qualification you book should match that, not the other way round.

Whether you need first aid at work in Aylesbury or a paediatric first aid course in Aylesbury, we cover the whole area, and the same applies if you need emergency first aid for schools in Aylesbury for teaching and support staff. Rebecca will tell you plainly which course fits your risk assessment, and will say so if the shorter course is enough.

The trainers between them hold over 50 years of combined experience, much of it in industry and emergency response rather than a classroom, and they are all in-house. You can read what other Aylesbury and Berkshire employers have said through the reviews widget on the site. Aim2Aid Ltd is a registered company, number 16319053, based in Windsor, Berkshire, and we train across Aylesbury, Berkshire and surrounding areas.

Right course, right site, right first time.
